What is 3D Thunder?
3D Thunder is a one-person experiment testing how well current AI can turn a plain-language description into an organic, figurative 3D mesh. You describe a character, creature, or object, and Thunder Bot generates a model you can preview, edit, and export in your browser.
Is this a company or a startup?
No — it's an independent, self-funded project built by one developer (Enes K) to explore AI text-to-3D generation and make figurative 3D printing more approachable. There's no team, no funding round, and no roadmap promises — just an active experiment that improves as more people try it.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. You can continue as a guest to try the studio instantly — no sign-up required. Guests get a small number of complimentary generations. Creating a free account unlocks more generations and lets you keep a personal collection of models.
How does text-to-3D generation work?
You write a short brief describing the object, set the maximum dimensions, and pick a style. The AI interprets your prompt and produces a 3D mesh, which streams back to your browser and appears on the canvas. You can then refine and export it.
What file format can I export?
Models can be exported as STL files, the standard format for 3D printing. You can print them yourself or send them to a print service.
What are generation tokens?
Each generation uses one token. Guest sessions include a couple of free tokens, and accounts get a larger allowance depending on their plan. This keeps the shared GPU capacity available and responsive for everyone.
Is 3D Thunder free?
Yes, there is a free tier. Guests can try it without an account, and registered accounts include complimentary generations. Additional tokens can be purchased if you need more.
Can I make 3D printable miniatures for tabletop games and wargaming?
Yes — that is one of the best use cases. Describe the hero, monster, or sci-fi trooper, set the maximum height to match your scale (for example 28 mm or 32 mm), and export an STL. Prints well on resin and FDM printers; expect to clean up supports and details, as with any miniature.
Can I create anime-style or chibi figures?
Yes. Describe the look in your prompt and pick a style like Chibi or Smooth & Cute to get stylized proportions, then export the STL and print it as a collectible figurine. Results vary by prompt, so a few attempts may be needed.
Can I generate characters from existing games, anime, or movies?
3D Thunder is built for original characters. Well-known franchise characters and designs are protected by copyright and trademark, and 3D Thunder is not affiliated with any such brand. Describe your own heroes, armored soldiers, pirates, or monsters instead — and check the rights before selling or sharing anything based on someone else's work.
Which 3D printers work with the exported files?
STL is accepted by virtually every slicer, so FDM printers (filament) and resin printers (SLA/MSLA) both work. Import the file into your slicer, add supports where needed, and scale to your target size.
Can I use the models commercially?
Models you generate are yours to preview, save, and export. Because 3D Thunder is in active testing, review output quality before relying on it for production work.
